Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA), Bengaluru has invited online applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment to vacant Group-B posts in the Horticulture Department.
The recruitment will be carried out through a competitive examination conducted by KEA. Eligible candidates are required to appear for the competitive examination conducted by the authority for consideration for appointment.

Educational Qualification
1. Assistant Horticulture Officer
Candidates must be graduates in Horticulture from a university established by law in India and accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
2. Assistant Horticulture Director
Candidates must possess a Post Graduate Degree in Horticulture along with B.Sc. in Horticulture from a university established by law in India and accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
Age Limit
Candidates must have completed a minimum age of 18 years as on the prescribed last date for submitting the application.

The selected candidates will also be covered under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) as applicable to the posts.
KEA Horticulture Exam Pattern

Kannada Language Test
Candidates who have studied Kannada as a first or second language at SSLC level or an equivalent/higher examination, or who have studied through Kannada medium and passed the relevant examination, may be exempted from the mandatory Kannada language test as per the notification.
Where applicable, the mandatory Kannada language test is an objective-type paper carrying 150 marks. Candidates must secure at least 50 marks to qualify.
Marks obtained in the mandatory Kannada language test are not considered for seniority or selection to the posts.
Probation Period
Candidates selected through direct recruitment will be required to undergo a two-year probation period as specified in the recruitment notification.
